As last year, nearly all existing platforms will be allowed as long as they fit in one of the categories. Wouldn't it be nice to see some cool ATARI stuff again? Do you agree, that a stylish AMiGA PPC demo can win over a PC demo? We say: "YES"!

And here are the categories for this years demo competitions:

Compo Machines

  • Machines not listed here have to be brought along by the contributers to prove that the entry runs on the specific machine
  • Entries for machines we cannot provide have to be contributed as DIVX/XVID. If you don't know how to record your entry, we can help you. Please make sure to contact us soon enough, so we don't have to mess with our timetable.
  • We can provide the following compo machines:
    • PAL C64 (Old & New SID) with Retro Replay and 1541-II Floppydrive
    • PSOne, PAL with Modchip
    • PS2, PAL with Modchip
    • Dreamcast, PAL and Japanese
    • Compo PC specs will be announced as soon as possible


  • The entries have to be delivered as single .lzh or .zip file
  • To avoid issues with the beam-system, the maximum resolution is 1024 x 768
  • Installation routines are forbidden. Unpacking your contribution into a directory and starting the executable have to be the only things necessary to get your production to work.
  • all custom libraries have to be provided with your production and they have to reside in the same directory
  • Any custom libraries count into the filesize limit!
  • pressing either the right mouse button or ESC has to end the demo instantly.

  • maximum size 16MB (16777216 bytes) archived (zip or rar) including all files (readme etc...)
  • runtime limit: 15 Minutes

High-End 64k Intro

  • filesize limit: 64kb uncompressed
  • runtime limit: 15 Minutes

High-End 4k Intro

  • filesize limit: 4kb uncompressed
  • runtime limit: 10 Minutes


  • The entries have to be delivered as single .lzh or .zip file
  • To avoid issues with the beam-system, the entries will be prerecorded using a professional scanconverter

Oldskool 4k Intro

  • maximum size is 4096 bytes (C64: 16 blocks and 32 bytes). The production must be a single file. (Noters are OK).
  • runtime limit: 5 Minutes
  • the intro has to be started via RUN or Autostart - no SYS XXX required.
